I always wanted to try wet plate collodion process but the chemicals are expensive. However, copying the look in photoshop is not that hard and cost nothing.

Maybe someday, I will learn the process but for now "dirtying up" an old digital picture help mask the fact that the original image was low resolution.

"Quiver (Pieta Performance)"

The pieta is a universal trope dating back to renaissance Catholic art, Michelangelo, more recently Marina Abramovic and Sam Taylor Wood.
The artist is naked and sits for the duration of the work.
People can approach her one at a time and be held in a Pieta configuration.
The artist doesn't communicate with speech except when absolutely necessary.
The piece will be awkward, tactile, hesitant etc. depending on the people who approach, their bodies, how they and she grapple with each other, clumsy intimacies, tottering balances so as not to drop them.
The audience perform themselves, themselves in clumsy embraces, little deaths, lover's holdings. The audience may be clothed or unclothed, depending on their preference.

Resident Evil: Afterlife (spoiler warning)

I don't really do movie reviews but I think I should warn people about this stinker.

I like Milla Jovovich. I think she is a great female action star. Only Michelle Rodriguez and Angelina Jolie are better. Milla deserves a better movie to showcase her than "Resident Evil: Afterlife".

This movie has so many plot holes that I actually felt my intelligence being insulted or my brain getting eaten by a zombie.

Here are a few that really sticks out:

*What happened to all the Alices? From the last movie, there was a shot of few thousands of Alices. Did they all die from that one attack on one Umbrella Corp. headquarter? I only saw a few of them attacking Umbrella. You would think that some would stay back just in case there are other headquarters to destroy.

*How did all the Alices get to Tokyo? Boat, Jumbo jet? Where did they get matching uniforms? Who taught them how to do their make-up?

*Alice was injected with a serum and lost all her powers yet she survived a crash on Mt. Fuji and was able to climb down from it. (They actually did not show how she got down from the mountain)

* What the heck is that giant hooded creature with the giant ax? Where did it come from? A reject from some wrestling league? I don't know - the writer/ director probably thought he looked cool but too lazy to come up with an explanation.

*On the last scene, you see all these helicopters about to attack the heroes - how come they waited until the heroes are on the ship before attacking. They had plenty of time to attack while the heroes are stuck in that prison complex.

Go see "Machete" instead, people!!

I visited a Sushi Chef School in Little Tokyo today. I actually do want to be a sushi chef and eventually have my own Feisty Sushi Restaurant. Yeah kinda funny. We will see.

On the drive back, a CHP stopped me for speeding - I was going 70mph on a 65mph zone. Sheesh. I can run faster than 5mph :O. I swear Highway Patrols are just road pirates.

Well it's been about 3 months of being unemployed and now I am getting really antsy. I can't afford to do a photoshoot so most days I am just home twirling my thumb. I have been thinking of going back to school - a Chef School. Imagine that - I can paint, sculpt, take photos and now, I can make gourmet food! Well we will see if it happens...

Meanwhile, here is an old picture that I took maybe around 2004. The model is an amazing violin player and she performs all over LA.

So I guess I am moving out of my tiny apartment in Culver City... It's amazing how much memory you can accumulate in a year. Here was a good day and good memories - taking pictures of my model and friend, Amber in my kitchen.This is a series of photos I took a few years ago. The baby is about 3 years old now but still has the same look about her except her hair is longer.
I love mom and baby pictures. I should do more :)
